Essay: Hamlet
Thesis: in Laurence olivier's vision of Hamlet he portrayed hamlet as a young solem man who is seated and who avoids eye contact with claudius and while his relationship with his other is is sere and loving, his relationship with claudius is superficial. On the other hand, kennith Branagh portrays claudius as caring and concerned. This portrayal makes hamlet come off as disturbed and confused. In this version he dresses hamlet in all black and Claudius is dressed in red and white, making hamlet appear as the vilan and Claudius appear as the righteous king.

Video analysis
Laurence Olivier- In his portrayal of Hamlet, he created a rather hostile environment. By having the king act so proud while simultaneously belittling Hamlet set a rather tense feel between the two characters. Furthermore, Hamlet sitting in a chair and avoiding eye contact made him seem helpless and meek while King Claudius appeared proud and powerful by parading around the room and literally talking down to Hamlet. On the contrary, the relationship between Hamlet and Gertrude was very genuine, meaningful, and even incestuous. While she was still seemingly on the side of her husband it was clear that her heart was with her son.
BBC- In this version of Hamlet the queen seemed extremely distant and removed. She did not have the same affection and affinity for her son as the actress in the Olivier's version. Furthermore, it appeared that hamlet was on the offense rather than on the defense. He seemed to be the one that was condescending. And while Gertrude did show a certain amount of sympathy for her son, it was apparent that his relationship with both the king and his mother was already damaged.

Gertrude
Gertrude can be perceived as someone who is shallow and who does not have a mind of her own. I believe however, that Gertrude is not as dumb as she seems. I believe that she denies the truth and tells white lies simply to protect herself and others from the unfortunate truth. She does not want to believe her unfortunate reality so she acts as if all is well, when deep down she is fully aware of the evil and vengeance present in her family.
Views on the Ipad
Some Challenges:
It can creat problems if you forget to charge your ipad before class, because then the child would be essencially disabled from participating in class.
I also have the ipad one which constantly freezes and delays making it difficult for me to keep pase with the rest of my class mates
Some Bennifits:
It is easy to bring to class and not to forget because rather than having to carry four heavy books we have one ipad
The ipad allows me to annotate and highlight through kno, where i am then able to go and have my annotations and highlights all in one spot as oppose to reading with a book where i would have to flip through each page to find my highlights
